Specialty Clinical Pharmacist - PRN

Job Description Pharmacist in specialty pharmacy delivering safe, efficient, cost-effective care, responsible for patient management and collaboration with multidisciplinary team. Job Specifics Schedule: PRN Shift: Monday - Friday 0730‑1800, no holidays or weekends Location: Denver Specialty Pharmacy Top candidates: clinical oncology expertise, Epic experience, ambulatory care experience Job Function The pharmacist applies knowledge and skills to provide specialty pharmacy care, manage high-cost, high-complexity therapies, oversee medication preparation and storage, counsel patients, ensure regulatory compliance, supervise support staff, and identify process improvements. Essential Functions Review medication orders for allergies, duplication, drug-drug interactions, and appropriateness; make evidence-based interventions; ensure safe, cost-effective therapies. Ensure timely preparation, delivery, and appropriate storage of specialty medications. Provide patient counseling, education on specialty therapies, and adherence strategies. Complete regulatory and compliance training; document requirements such as REMS, URAC, ACHC. Supervise interns, technicians, and support personnel; provide clinical consultation. Treat problems related to equipment, drug availability, staff, insurance denials, and supply limits. Identify process improvement opportunities and safety hazards; participate in meetings. Support pharmacy directives, performance metrics, and enterprise initiatives. Skills Pharmacy Pharmacy Services Medication Management Pharmaceutical Care Project Management Quality Improvement Problem Solving Federal Pharmacy Laws State Pharmacy Laws Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (education verified). License to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances. Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations. Effective communication, people management, and project management skills. Immunization certification (preferred). Previous experience in integrated health system. Board Certification. Health System Residency. Physical Requirements See and read information, labels, documents, and monitors; assess customer needs. Communicate verbally and comprehend spoken information quickly and accurately. Use manual dexterity for complex supplies and equipment; frequent computer use. Location Denver, Colorado – Denver Specialty Pharmacy Salary $61.36 – $90.18 per hour, dependent on experience.
