OR TechPrepare the operating room by ensuring it is set up for surgery. Ensure sterile instruments and a sterile table with supplies, medications, and equipment are ready. Prepare patients by shaving and cleaning the patient's skin before surgery. Assist the surgical team in scrubbing in. Sterilize equipment by cleaning and preparing instruments for sterilization. Assist during surgery by passing instruments, sponges, and dressings to the surgeon. Retract tissue, apply suction, and assist with suturing as needed. Maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure. Keep the operating room clean before and after each procedure. Work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
