The Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Cloud) will play a critical role in building and scaling the cloud and data infrastructure that supports advanced autonomous technology solutions.

Accountabilities:

The Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Cloud) will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure and data systems that enable reliable software delivery and operational excellence. This role requires deep technical ownership, strong problem-solving skills, and close collaboration with engineering teams.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that transfer operational data from on-premise environments into cloud infrastructure.
• Architect and manage cloud-based systems using AWS services for computation, storage, data processing, and system telemetry.
• Develop and maintain reliable hybrid data architectures connecting on-premise and cloud environments.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines that support rapid software delivery, testing, and validation workflows.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for automated and consistent deployments.
• Develop internal automation tools and services to improve data ingestion, processing, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
• Establish best practices for infrastructure reliability, security, observability, and scalability.
• Perform root-cause analysis for infrastructure and pipeline issues, implementing long-term improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define scalable data interfaces, deployment strategies, and system architectures.
• Contribute to technical decisions and help establish engineering standards across distributed systems.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced infrastructure and cloud engineer with a strong background in distributed systems, automation, and data engineering. You should be comfortable owning complex technical challenges, designing scalable solutions, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience building cloud infrastructure and data systems for large-scale distributed applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python, particularly for automation and data pipeline development.
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, and data processing solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, and gRPC for scalable, high-throughput systems.
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews, and collaborative software development practices.
• Experience designing hybrid cloud and on-premise data architectures is a plus.
• Background in robotics, autonomous systems, real-time data platforms, or safety-critical systems is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack is a plus.
• Understanding of networking, security, and distributed system optimization principles.
