Job Description A Boutique Personal Injury Firm is looking for an excellent litigator to move cases from complaint to conclusion. Legal Tasks Research and writing all motions and response and replies, including motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, any other motions Arguing motions, responses before the court Computer-based work Drafting initial complaints and discovery Written discovery work including responses to discovery, discovery to opposing parties, and motions to compel Researching motions in limine, objections, evidence and preparing trial briefing as necessary Drafting other trial-related documents like jury instructions Researching and preparing any post-trial or appellate issue, advising on post-trial or appellate issues before trial Management Tasks Monitor reporting for timely completion of tasks by paralegals Monitor reporting for timely completion of tasks by attorneys Monitor reporting for “in system” case management metrics Assist in decision to move certain cases to “out of system” case management Assist in deciding on metrics/goals for individual cases that move “out of system” Monitor cases that are “out of system” to ensure they are progressing on “out of system” track per agreed upon metrics/goals Monitor caseload for paralegals & self.
