1. POSITION SUMMARY
This role provides high volume urgent care services within a large, multispecialty medical group. The position includes evaluation and treatment of walk in patients, after hours care, and weekend coverage. The physician will perform common urgent care procedures and work within a collaborative clinical environment supported by advanced diagnostic resources.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide evaluation and treatment for acute illnesses and minor injuries in an urgent care setting.
• Perform procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal.
• Manage walk in, after hours, and weekend patient volumes.
• Utilize onsite diagnostic resources including imaging and laboratory services.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, RNs, and LPNs.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate referrals with primary care and specialty services as needed.
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Board Certified in Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine.
• Minimum one year of urgent care experience.
• Proficiency in common urgent care procedures.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Florida.
4. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working in average to high volume urgent care settings.
• Interest in joining a large multispecialty practice.

• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
• Commitment to patient centered care and evidence based practice.

6. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide urgent care services for walk in patients of all ages.
• Perform minor procedures and manage acute conditions.
• Utilize onsite imaging and laboratory diagnostics.
• Coordinate care with primary care and specialty providers.
7. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in departmental meetings and clinical operations as assigned.
• Engage in continuing medical education and professional development.
8. WORK SETTING & ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment: Outpatient; Clinic/Private Practice
• Team of physicians, advanced practice providers, RNs, and LPNs.
• High volume urgent care environment with walk in access.
• Use of industry standard EMR systems and modern diagnostic equipment.
• Access to imaging, laboratory services, and multispecialty referral networks.
9. SCHEDULE & CALL REQUIREMENTS
• Block scheduling with approximately 10+ shifts per month.
• Weekend coverage required.
• No call responsibilities and no overnight shifts.
10. REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to Clinical Leadership and collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and administrative staff across the organization.
