Our Administrative Studio team, in our Chicago office is seeking a Staff Accountant. This role will support the overall business operations by handling bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable while working closely with clients, and other admin team members. Position Overview At dbHMS, we rely on our Staff Accountant to apply principles of accounting to input AP, apply payments, reconcile bank statements and make journal entries using generally accepted accounting principles. They will work with other Administrative team members to support the financial functions of the organization. Essential Job Functions Perform accounting transactions (AP, AR, JEs). Perform timely bank and credit card reconciliations. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. Reconcile accounts payables and receivables. Perform weekly bank deposits and reconciliations. Assist with managing balance sheets and profit/loss statements. Publish financial statements for executive team. Comply with financial policies and regulations. Requirements Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience. Professional experience working with confidential and sensitive information. Knowledge of state and federal tax form processes. Ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet timely obligations with many clients. Knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills. Skilled using various accounting software and experience in troubleshooting common accounting program problems. Experience in Architectural/Engineering industry a plus. Experience with Deltek Ajera a plus. Personal Qualities, Other Skills/Abilities Highly organized working style. Confident in learning new software programs.
