Data EngineerRemote Opportunity Position Type: Direct Hire/ PermanentCitizenship or Permanent Residency Required- This position is not eligible for employer-based visa sponsorshipWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Technology Group/GIS team. This role is responsible for architecting, documenting, and developing data architecture models and business reporting applications, as well as providing technical leadership for database development efforts. The ideal candidate will be experienced in complex data mapping and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL/ELT) processes, and will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to design and implement robust data solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct complex data mapping between systems in a clear, well-documented mannerPerform data analysis and develop data models to support ETL/ELT developmentDesign and execute complex data migrations (ETL/ELT) to support development initiativesCollaborate with software architects, developers, and BI developers on solution designMentor software developers on data architecture and database best practicesAssign and oversee medium-complexity database development tasks across multiple projectsDesign, document, and develop data integrations with third-party solutionsReview and contribute to data and database design and implementation documentationWork with IT to deploy solutions into production environmentsContribute to the improvement of development standards, tools, and processesProvide production support for urgent and critical system issuesParticipate in personnel interviews and assist with training, mentoring, and knowledge sharingRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field5+ years of experience developing data/database systems and integrating with third-party solutions5+ years of ETL/ELT experienceHands on experience working as a Data Engineer on the Databricks Platform2+ years of experience architecting data/database solutions and designing integrations3+ years of experience working within a hybrid agile development methodologyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Azure technologiesExperience with cloud-hosted data warehousing platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft FabricExperience using DBT (data build tool) for data transformation and modelingExperience with a variety of databases and ETL/ELT solutionsIf you are passionate about data engineering and thrive in a collaborative environment where innovation is encouraged, we invite you to apply.
