Knowledge of home exercise programs

Lifting and transfer skills

Patient family education skills

Experience in ER, geriatrics, ICU, medical surgical, orthopedics

Ability to perform AROM/AAROM/PROM, skin integrity, pain assessment, strength testing

Familiarity with assistive devices, body mechanics, vital signs, discharge planning

Description: The position involves providing acute care physical therapy. The therapist will handle a variety of diagnoses including THA, TKA, CABG, general surgery, fractures, and general medical cases. This is a community-based hospital setting. The therapist will engage in patient assessments and treatment that primarily focuses on ADL and upper extremity dysfunctions. Daily activities include evaluations and planning care, providing education to patients and families, and developing home exercise programs. Skills needed encompass gait training, handling assistive devices, and executing safe discharge procedures. The position may require floating to different facilities within the state. The therapist should be adaptable to working with a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics. The role will involve teamwork with an interdisciplinary staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
