Sheet Metal Technician

This role focuses on setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC laser cutting machines and traditional sheet metal equipment like Mechanical Press Brakes. The Sheet Metal Technician reads and interprets blueprints and work orders, selects appropriate materials and tooling, and performs inspections to ensure all parts meet required specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting machines, including fiber and CO lasers, to produce sheet metal components according to specifications.
• Operate traditional sheet metal equipment such as press brakes, shears, punches, and saws to form and cut materials accurately.
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders to determine job requirements, dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Perform first-article inspections and in-process inspections to verify that parts meet quality standards and dimensional tolerances.
• Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other inspection equipment to ensure precision and consistency.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or CNC laser operation.
• Hands-on experience operating CNC laser cutting machines or Mechanical Press Brakes, including fiber or CO lasers.
• Working knowledge of mechanical press brakes and traditional sheet metal equipment such as shears, punches, and saws.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings, including understanding dimensions and tolerances.
• Proficiency using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with basic CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with CNC laser cutting machines from major manufacturers (or similar industrial laser systems).

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Southampton, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $68640.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
