Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer develops, documents, and maintains detailed work instructions for machining and assembly processes while supporting daily manufacturing operations. This role drives continuous improvement, ensures compliance with quality standards, and collaborates closely with engineering, production, operations, and service teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain detailed work instructions for machining and assembly processes, using clear graphics and text.
• Create, manage, and verify engineering change requests to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, operations, and service teams to ensure the quality and consistency of manufacturing documentation.
• Coordinate meetings and follow-ups between engineering, operations, and service to align on process changes and production priorities.
• Support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and identifying root causes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Serve as an active working member of the safety committee, contributing to a safe and compliant work environment.
• Ensure documentation, processes, and engineering changes comply with established quality standards and best practices.
• Apply principles of lean manufacturing, six sigma, and process improvement to optimize assembly and machining operations.
• Support assembly and machine production activities by providing clear technical guidance and process documentation.
• Manage projects related to process improvement and documentation updates, ensuring timely and effective implementation.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, such as Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Approximately 3 years of experience in engineering or technical roles, preferably in manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Strong experience in process improvement, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing practices.
• Familiarity with six sigma methodologies for quality and process optimization.
• Experience supporting assembly and machine production operations.
• Ability to develop clear and detailed work instructions using both graphics and text.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects and documentation updates.
• Analytical thinking skills to assess processes, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication.
• Experience with Inventor design software or other 3D design software tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Project management experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Experience participating in or supporting safety committees or safety initiatives.
• Knowledge of quality standards and compliance requirements in a manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing programs.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, operations, and service.

Work Environment

This role operates in both shop floor and office settings, providing exposure to hands-on manufacturing activities as well as engineering and documentation work. You will spend time on the production floor supporting assembly and machine operations, troubleshooting issues, and observing processes, as well as in an office environment creating work instructions, managing engineering changes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $75.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Milwaukee,WI.
