Job Description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our clinical team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care to children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs. The hygienist will partner closely with pediatric dentists, clinical assistants, and front-office personnel to support an exceptional patient and parent experience while promoting lifelong oral health.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and non-surgical periodontal therapy as indicated.
Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical history review, extraoral and intraoral evaluations, periodontal charting, and caries risk assessments.
Take high-quality digital radiographs consistent with ALARA guidelines.
Apply fluoride varnish, sealants, and other preventive agents in accordance with practice protocols and state regulations.
Provide age-appropriate patient and parent education focused on home care, nutrition, caries prevention, and behavior guidance.
Support pediatric behavior management techniques to ensure a positive and comfortable visit.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, instruments, and sterilization processes in compliance with OSHA, CDC, and infection control standards.
Accurately document findings, procedures, and patient communications in the electronic health record.
Collaborate with dentists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
Assist with emergency patient care as needed.
Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of practice.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Prior experience in pediatric dentistry is a must.
Proficiency with digital radiography and electronic dental records.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage children and reassure parents.
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, infection control, and clinical excellence.

- Work Hours:*
Monday:8:30am-5:30pm.
Tuesday,(2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month ) 8:30am-5:30pm.
Wednesday:8:30am-5:30pm.
Thursday: 8:30-5:30pm.
Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
- Breaks: 60-minute meal break (not counted as work hours).
