Details Surgical Stepdown unit with 29 beds Patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4 Post-op patients including high acuity surgical cases and lower acuity surgical patients needing cardiac drips or BiPAP support Also cares for trauma and high acuity medical patients Uses EPIC EMR Day shift, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Every other weekend required No call requirements Floating to any department of equal or lower acuity when needed Requirements Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri, or compact license Current BLS and ACLS certification from AHA only Minimum 2 years of stepdown experience required Stepdown or ICU experience required Experience with post-op care, BiPap, and cardiac drips required Strong time management and critical thinking skills required No employment gaps of 90 days within the past 12 months Additional Information Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers Maintain patient rights and confidentiality Position located within a Level 2 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and turning patients with assistance High risk exposure to blood and body fluids Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted Black scrubs required per facility dress code RTO of 5 days or less allowed, must be made up during the assignment Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local Local candidates limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer outside the radius American Traveler Job ID P-750056.
