About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours, 4 shifts per week Experience: Minimum of 24 months of medical-surgical nursing experience required. License: Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: - Experience in Pulmonary patient care is required. - Experience caring for Pulmonary/Ventilated patients, including Bi-PAP and trach care, is highly preferred. - Charge experience is required. - Level I trauma experience is highly preferred. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical care. The nurse will provide care to a variety of patients, including those with pulmonary conditions. The unit has a bed size of 23, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:6. Nurses will administer medication and manage drips, including Heparin. Contractors may be required to work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. There may be a requirement to float across multiple campuses. Candidates must be prepared to care for both positive and negative COVID-19 patients. This role includes a holiday rotation and every other weekend commitment. Professional references are preferred but not mandatory. The applicant must complete a skills checklist specific to Medical-Surgical nursing.
