Long-Term Volunteer Position - Logistics Volunteer

Location: Phoenix, AZ

This is an unpaid position. The Logistics Coordinator supports disaster operations by coordinating resources, facilities, supplies, equipment, transportation, and operational support needs. This role helps ensure the disaster program has the materials and infrastructure needed to operate safely and effectively.

This is primarily a coordination and tracking role rather than a warehouse-only position. The Logistics Coordinator works closely with the Emergency Disaster Services Director on projects throughout the year as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Blue Sky Days

• Support EDS Director in maintenance of EDS fleet including minor maintenance tasks and coordination of maintenance appointments
• Tracking of fleet maintenance
• Inventory and organization of EDS warehouse
  • Maintain situational a Supports delivery, staging, and movement of resources
  • Awareness of inventory levels and anticipated needs

Facilities & Site Support

• • Assist with setup and support of disaster facilities
  • Delivery of resources from EDS warehouse to disaster sites
  • Supports in inventory and tracking of EDS resources and assets
  • Coordinates intake and movement of supplies
  • Participate in operational briefings and planning meetings
  • Communicate logistical limitations, shortages, and anticipated issues to Incident Command
  • Support demobilization and closeout activities at the end of operations

Additional Duties

• • Maintain safety and accountability standards
  • Other disaster-related duties as assigned

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Experience with inventory, coordination, transportation, or warehouse operations preferred
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, email, and tracking systems
  • Ability to lift and move supplies as needed
  • Basic vehicle maintenance skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, staff, and partner agencies

Time Commitment

• • Time commitment is 2 days a week during blue sky days, 5-10 hours.
  • May include evenings, weekends, or deployment assignments during disaster operations
  • This is an unpaid position.
