Quail Run Hospital is a 115-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Phoenix, Arizona. Quail Run features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Quail Run Behavioral Health.

The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle, recipes and production sheets.

Job Duties:

• Open/close the kitchen and ensure organization of daily events.
• Follow posted cleaning schedule and ensure a clean work area and dining room at all times.
• Prepare meals and beverages according to menu cycle and daily production sheet following menus and recipes as provided by the Dietary Manager and Dietician.
• Document refrigeration and dish machine temperatures according to posted schedules.
• Report any equipment malfunction immediately to the Food Service Manager.
• Provide assistance with washing dishes and maintaining dish room in a clean and orderly fashion.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Two (2) years' experience in quantity cooking preferred, a basic knowledge of modified diets; training in food service sanitation
• Food service food handler's permit required.
• Experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils; and some prior kitchen supervisory experience preferred.
• Handle With Care and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Providers required. Training provided at the facility.
• Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire.
