Role The Bereavement Services Supervisor (BVSS) provides programmatic oversight for the affiliate’s Bereavement Programs and offers clinical counseling expertise and programmatic consultation to Bereavement Counselors, members of the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) and the community, including the adult bereavement program and the program for grieving children. Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work (CSWE accredited), Counseling, or related field Florida LCSW, LMHC or LMFT Minimum of four (4) years of related experience Minimum of up to one (1) year of supervisory/lead experience Experience related to the concepts and practices of death and dying with children and adults Experience in children, family, and group modalities and intervention Previous experience working with an EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical/Health Record) system Able to remain calm and professional and trouble shoot and manage children/family crisis situations Ability to effectively communicate in English (written and verbal) Intermittent Driver – Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per Company policy. Ability to travel off-site to meet business needs Ability to work evenings and weekends Competencies Satisfactorily completes competency requirements for this position. Regulatory Compliance: Educate and monitor staff regarding their own and the organization's responsibilities for regulatory compliance. Job Responsibilities Collaborate with the Social and Volunteer Services Manager for provision and operation of the adult and children’s bereavement programs. Develop and maintain the Bereavement database, records and files, ensuring timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and legibility. Maintain focus on programmatic oversight, development, support, and supervision of volunteer staff for Bereavement Department and Children’s Grief Center. Assist the Social and Volunteer Services Manager in maintaining and enhancing bereavement programs, including groups, camps, and other special events and programs within the department. Assess bereavement care needs of survivors (adults, children, families) in accordance with operational guidelines within the department. Provide clinical oversight for support group meetings, including supervisory, debriefing, and educational sessions for Grief Center volunteers; act as backup to Bereavement Specialists. Provide follow-up with clients and refer to community agencies for additional assistance. Provide appropriate bereavement training, case management, consultation, education and supervision for staff, students, and volunteers assigned to the department. Perform other duties as assigned.
