Quality Control Tech - 2nd Shift - Days Off: Tuesday & Friday Location: Bedford Park, IL This role follows a 2nd shift schedule, working from 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM, with designated days off on Tuesday and Friday. Responsibilities Ensures the accuracy and quality of all product labeled, portioned, meal bagged, and shipped from Home Chef by working alongside production to conduct on‑the‑line checks of product against recipe specifications and quality standards. Core QC Functions Labeling – Performs visual inspections of labeling processes (bottles, jars, bags) for correct placement, product name, and ingredient names per QA sheets. Issues QC samples to production before production. Issues measuring equipment. Reinforces training. Confirms portion amounts. Final verification and sign‑off. Conducts hourly inspections of portions. Uses production sheets to verify meal bag setup, ingredient presence, and amounts. Conducts hourly inspection of meal bags by unpacking. Maintains watch over line and helps close bags. Performs random bag inspections for quality. Shipping Line – For all lines, verifies line setup using boxing call‑out sheet, communicates errors, inspects meat for quality, conducts sanitation. For similar lines, verifies setup, initials sign‑off, ensures correct pick quantity. Confirms correct proteins, meal bags, etc. via pick ticket. Receiving/Outbound Transfers – Completes QC inspections of inbound/outbound ingredients; escalates issues to FSQA leadership. Other Responsibilities – Final Box Verification, Post‑op Clean up, Equipment Setup and Maintenance, General Responsibilities, Attitude and Attendance. Other Responsibilities Final Box Verification – Removes boxes systematically, completes verification form, documents issues, provides feedback, corrects issues, places boxes on pallet. Post‑op Clean up – Collects utensils, places them in designated spots, stores QA materials. Equipment Setup and Maintenance – Sets up portion fillers, verifies equipment, notifies FSQA of quality issues. General Responsibilities – Follow GMPs and enforce them; support SQF and quality programs. Attitude and Attendance – Arrives on time, follows time‑off procedure, communicates professionally, treats coworkers with respect, uses teamwork. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
