Position Details

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry for a day shift position. The shift schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM.

Specialty

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele/PCU.
• Neurotrauma stepdown experience with NIHSS certification is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring is essential.
• Ability to float to meet facility needs, including nearby locations if necessary.

Scheduling

• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week with options for additional shifts.
• Pre-approved time off is permitted during the contract.

Patient Care & Unit Details

This position is located within a recently opened 30-bed Surgical Neuro Trauma Care Unit (SNTCU) that serves a diverse patient population suffering from various medical conditions. Our goal is to evolve into a Surgical Neuro Trauma ICU/IMCU unit in the coming years.

Patient Ratios

• Registered Nurse (RN) to patient ratio: 1:4-6
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to patient ratio: 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights

Core Competencies

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

• Management of telemetry and cardiac rhythms.
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen protocol.
• Peripheral line care and management.
• Administration of cardiac drips including but not limited to: nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and Nicardipine.
• Rapid response team activation and computerized documentation.

Additional Information

The facility emphasizes interprofessional collaboration, with support available from various teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and rapid response teams, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care.
