About the Position

Job Title: OR Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must have 2 years of current experience in an acute hospital setting, not a surgical center. Strong experience in ortho, neuro, and robotics. Willingness to float to general OR. Description: The unit has 16 operating rooms. There are 53 total staff members, including Directors, Charge RNs, surgeons, and anesthesiologists. Patient ratios are typically 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1. Equipment used includes sterile accessories, circulators, sponges, gowning, gloving, tubing, and cords. The documentation system in use is Meditech. Call requirements may be in effect. Responsibilities include preparing the operating room and arranging equipment. You will assist doctors during surgeries. Additionally, you will inspect, maintain, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment. Keeping inventory records is important, as is performing pre and post-surgical tasks like shaving, transporting, and applying dressings. Robotics/Da Vinci experience and scrubbing are essential. Dress code requires specific scrub color, and scrubs are provided. The facility has undergone significant upgrades, including a new patient tower. It is recognized as a certified comprehensive Stroke Center and has received awards for achievement. This position is being created to fill a vacant role.
