Industry Connection Development Intern

The Industry Connection Development Intern serves as a member of the Industry to Campus Connection (Employer Relations) team within the Center for Career & Professional Development. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in employer engagement, internship development, event management, customer relationship management, and professional communications while supporting initiatives that connect employers with University of South Florida students.

Responsibilities include supporting employer engagement initiatives by assisting with employer recruitment efforts, job promotion campaigns, information sessions, on-campus interviews, networking events, and career fairs. Additionally, the intern will assist in managing employer communications, review job postings and event requests, support the growth of the Community Federal Work-Study Program, and conduct market research on employment trends and internship opportunities.

The intern will also represent the student perspective by providing feedback on employer engagement strategies and complete additional projects that support employer partnerships, internship development, and career readiness programming.

Learning outcomes include developing professional relationships with employers and campus partners, demonstrating an understanding of employer recruitment strategies, researching labor market trends, evaluating employer programs, and developing proficiency in professional software platforms.

Minimum qualifications include eligibility for the Federal Work-Study Program, enrollment as a degree-seeking student at the University of South Florida, and professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include interest in employer relations, career services, human resources, recruiting, business, marketing, or communications, and previous experience in customer service, leadership, student organizations, or volunteer work.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects.
