The role is Full Time, M-F with comprehensive benefits that start Day 1.This role is Hybrid with planned meetings.The 340B Program Director oversees 9 entities for this large scale, complex enterprise program. This is a highly visible role with growth opportunity. MGB is looking for a strong director, who can lead and has a strong skill set in business pharmacy operations and development. The director owns the compliance and operational aspects of the program, managing the day to day and engaged in stakeholder meetings. The team is comprised of 15 employees now (direct and indirect reports) and is evolving.Make a Difference Through Strategic 340B Program LeadershipMass General Brigham is seeking an experienced 340B Program Manager to lead and optimize our health system's 340B Program. This highly visible role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maximizing program efficiency and savings, managing contract pharmacy relationships, and driving strategic initiatives that support care for underserved and vulnerable patient populations.The successful candidate will serve as the organization's subject matter expert on all aspects of 340B program administration, collaborating closely with Pharmacy Leadership, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Information Systems, and external partners to ensure operational excellence and continuous program improvement.Lead a High-Impact Program That Expands Access to CareMass General Brigham is seeking a strategic and operationally focused Director, Enterprise 340B Program to lead one of the health system's most important pharmacy business initiatives. This enterprise leadership role is responsible for the oversight, compliance, optimization, and financial performance of the 340B Drug Pricing Program across a complex, integrated healthcare system.Reporting to the Enterprise Director of Pharmacy Strategy & Business Development, the Director serves as the organization's primary 340B subject matter expert and institutional authority, ensuring regulatory compliance while maximizing program value to support patient care, operational excellence, and financial stewardship.This role partners closely with Pharmacy, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Revenue Cycle, Information Systems, and executive leadership to drive program strategy, strengthen governance, and identify opportunities to expand the impact of 340B savings across the organization.What You'll DoEnterprise Program Leadership• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the health system's 340B Program and related pharmacy business services.• Serve as the primary organizational contact and HRSA-authorized representative for all 340B matters.• Develop and execute initiatives that enhance program effectiveness, compliance, and financial performance.• Lead system-wide 340B governance, oversight committees, and strategic planning efforts.Compliance & Regulatory Oversight• Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal, state, HRSA, OPA, and payer requirements related to the 340B Program.• Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends, translating changes into actionable organizational policies and procedures.• Oversee registration, recertification, audit readiness, and compliance monitoring activities across all participating entities and sites.• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on regulatory risk, compliance strategy, and program governance.Program Optimization & Business Development• Identify and implement opportunities to strengthen program performance, improve operational efficiency, and maximize savings.• Lead initiatives focused on program growth, eligible site expansion, contract pharmacy strategy, and new service opportunities.• Partner with clinical and operational leaders to ensure 340B resources support care for underserved and vulnerable populations.• Evaluate and implement innovative solutions, technologies, and workflow enhancements that improve program outcomes.Financial & Operational Management• Provide oversight of split-billing systems, financial software platforms, and related operational infrastructure.• Monitor program financial performance, utilization, savings, and key operational metrics.• Develop executive-level reporting and analytics to support decision-making, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.• Collaborate with Finance and Pharmacy leadership to ensure accurate financial management and reporting of drug spend and program savings.Vendor & Contract Management• Build and maintain strong partnerships with contract pharmacies, third-party administrators, consultants, wholesalers, and manufacturers.• Oversee vendor performance, contract compliance, and service delivery.• Evaluate current and future partnership opportunities to ensure operational, financial, and regulatory alignment.Team & Stakeholder Leadership• Develop strong collaborative relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the organization.• Lead education and training initiatives to promote program awareness, accountability, and compliance.• Provide leadership for budget development, resource planning, workforce management, and team development.• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.Why Join Mass General Brigham?This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a highly visible enterprise program that directly contributes to expanding access to care for underserved communities. As the leader of the 340B Program, you will influence system-wide strategy, drive meaningful financial impact, and collaborate with executive leaders across one of the nation's premier healthcare organizations.If you are a compliance-minded leader with deep 340B expertise, strong business acumen, and a passion for optimizing healthcare operations, we encourage you to apply.QualificationsWhat You'll OwnProgram Leadership & ComplianceLead the day-to-day management and oversight of the organization's 340B Program across eligible sites and pharmacy operations.Monitor evolving HRSA, OPA, Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance and organizational readiness.Develop, implement, and maintain 340B policies, procedures, and governance processes.Serve as the primary compliance resource for leadership, providing guidance on regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices.Ensure accurate registration, recertification, and maintenance of all covered entities, child sites, and eligible locations within the HRSA database.Audit & Risk ManagementMaintain a continuous state of audit readiness across the program.Lead internal and external 340B audits, compliance assessments, and corrective action initiatives.Coordinate responses to audit requests and partner with external consultants and regulatory agencies as needed.Conduct routine monitoring of 340B purchasing, utilization, contract pharmacy activity, split-billing processes, and patient eligibility requirements.Implement remediation plans and process improvements to address audit findings and compliance risks.Program Optimization & Financial PerformanceIdentify and implement opportunities to enhance program performance, operational efficiency, and cost savings.Develop strategies with manufacturers, wholesalers, and pharmacy leadership to optimize program utilization.Evaluate and implement technology solutions, including automation tools, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and 340B ESP platforms.Support expansion initiatives by identifying eligible locations, contract pharmacy opportunities, and outpatient program enhancements.Collaborate with organizational leaders to maximize the impact of 340B savings in support of patient care and community health initiatives.Reporting, Analytics & Budget SupportDevelop and deliver executive-level reporting on program utilization, savings, compliance metrics, and operational performance.Analyze drug spend, utilization trends, forecasting data, and budget variances to support financial planning.Serve as the primary liaison for Finance on drug expense reporting and budget analysis.Communicate key performance indicators, savings opportunities, trends, and strategic recommendations to leadership.Contract Pharmacy ManagementOversee relationships with contracted 340B pharmacies and third-party administrators.Evaluate contract pharmacy opportunities, including contract terms, fee structures, compliance requirements, and financial performance.Ensure contracted partners meet operational, compliance, and audit standards.Education & Team CollaborationDevelop and deliver training and competency programs for staff involved in 340B operations.Foster a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.Participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance feedback activities for team members.Partner across departments to improve workflows, resolve operational issues, and enhance program effectiveness.Why This Role MattersAs the 340B Program Manager, you will play a critical role in protecting organizational compliance while maximizing resources that help expand access to care for underserved and vulnerable populations.
