Prepares written reports of cases assigned.Serves subpoenas.Works traffic details.Searches for suspects, witnesses, missing persons and lost property; makes arrests for criminal violations.Presents evidence and testimony in court hearings of prepared cases.Investigates narcotic and vice activities.Writes, execute, and serve search warrants.Inventories Tasers, patrol cameras, and other equipment.Participates in and organizes community-oriented policing activities.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commission.Must possess a valid or current Basic Law Enforcement Training (B.L.E.T.) certificate. Candidates must provide documentation of (B.L.E.T.) certificate.Must submit to and be able to successfully pass background, physical, and psychological screening.No felony convictions.
