Analytics Consultant

The Analytics Consultant is a key member of the Enterprise Strategic Analytics + Data Science team, serving as a bridge between strategic business needs and analytical solutions. This role partners with business units and Analytics Partners to identify and address analytical opportunities, leveraging both consulting and technical skills to design and deliver data-driven insights that drive business growth and operational excellence. The Consultant is expected to demonstrate a proactive and solution-oriented approach, translating business challenges into actionable analytical projects and contributing to the development of a data-driven culture within the organization.

Analytical Project Execution:

• Lead and execute analytical projects, applying appropriate methodologies and techniques, under the guidance of Analytics Partners.
• Conduct data exploration, cleaning, and preparation to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Develop and implement analytical models, leveraging statistical and machine learning techniques as needed.
• Generate actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
• Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and presentations.
• Actively participate in the implementation and deployment of analytical solutions.

Strategic Partnership:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and Analytics Partners to understand their goals, challenges, and analytical requirements.
• Proactively identify opportunities to leverage analytics to drive business value and improve decision-making.
• Translate business needs into well-defined analytical projects, outlining scope, objectives, and success metrics.
• Conduct comprehensive business assessments and needs analyses to inform project prioritization and execution.
• Support Analytics Partners in developing strategic recommendations and roadmaps.

Technical Expertise:

• Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
• Experience working with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake for data exploration, transformation, analytics, and large-scale data processing.
• Utilize data visualization tools to create clear and impactful presentations.
• Stay abreast of emerging analytical techniques and technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data and analysis.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and analytical infrastructure.

Collaboration and Mentorship:

• Work closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and other team members to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering their development and growth.
• Contribute to a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and alignment to ensure successful project outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in consulting, analytics, data science, or a related field, with demonstrated success in delivering analytical projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business problems into analytical frameworks.
• Proven experience performing business analysis or financial/statistical data analysis, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience with cloud-based data and analytics platforms, specifically Databricks and/or Snowflake, is required.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, SPSS, Palantir, Python, and other relevant analytical software.
• Knowledge of syndicated data like IRI and Nielsen is a plus.
