Role Highlights
- Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric age groups through a blend of standardized testing and personal observation.
- Create individualized treatment plans that accommodate both immediate goals and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver specialized, one-on-one therapy sessions that focus on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a range of health professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to ensure comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families, providing tools to encourage progress beyond clinic visits.
- Participate in occasional speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatients, ensuring a seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain precise and timely patient documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay aligned with the latest advancements in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for diverse age groups, with comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and regulatory documentation standards.
