Key responsibilities include reading and interpreting utility prints, communicating with the drill operator about the bore path, and performing physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions. What you'll do Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities. Operate different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark under-ground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits. Use assigned communication equipment to effectively communicate with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel, regarding underground facilities. Perform light excavation with a shovel, to expose buried utilities when necessary. Provide accurate documentation and or sketches related to all locates completed. Receive and respond to excavation notices during normal and after hours in accordance with established time requirements. Use a computer or other device to receive, document and close out excavation notices. Respond to emergency calls. Work weekends, night work and/or overnight travel as needed. Operate company vehicles in a safe manner and maintain a professional appearance. Perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices. What you'll need To be 18 years of age or older Authorization to work in the United States for this company High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience Valid US driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record Drill Locator Experience Required Physical abilities & exposures Routinely : work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse Occasionally : use portable ladder, work in confined spaces and climb stairs The wage range for Locator - Directional Drill Bore is $23.00 - $28.00 Why work with us Your career here is more than just a job - it's your pathway to opportunity.
