The Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Gregory Mott, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of: bus drivers / custodial.

Qualifications: Meets civil service qualifications for position; valid NYS driver's license B with P&S endorsements.

Duties: The Poughkeepsie City School District (PCSD) is committed to providing students and parents with pathways to opportunity that will lead to achievement and success. Through student-centered effective and transformational leadership, school and community engagement, and an unrelenting pursuit to achieve greater school outcomes for children, the Poughkeepsie City Schools is focused on developing and growing greater access, equity, opportunity, and quality across PCSD. This work involves the operation of an automotive vehicle used to transport students and/or passengers, and the primary/secondary responsibility for building cleaning, operation, and minor maintenance activities in a school.

Examples of work: operates on a school bus on a regular schedule and/or special occasions; checks the operating condition of the bus before starting on a trip; reports any defects to superior; maintains orderly conduct of passengers on bus; participates in all building cleaning and minor maintenance activities; checks to ensure that buildings are cleaned, locked, and in readiness for all activities; keeps simple activity records.

Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials, and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be conducted where appropriate.

Effective date: as soon as practicable.

Salary: in accordance with the CSEA contract, $47,172 - $54,186.
