It's all here and it’s exactly what going further is all about.Position SummarySupervises and oversees the maintenance and repair tasks on trucks and trailers.Major Tasks and ResponsibilitiesSupervises cross-functional partners on mechanical work on trucks and trailers.Instructs mechanics on proper diagnosis of failures and correct repair practices.Maintains detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.Performs inspections, services, and repairs on trailers.Uses specialized equipment to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance work.Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical issues on trailers and dollies.Tracks and maintains service information on all mechanic-related activities.Prepares reports on maintenance activities and vehicle and equipment status.Minimum QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age.High school diploma or GED.Authorized to work in the United States.Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language in order to perform the various tasks of the job, including but not limited to: converse with co-workers and members of the general public; understand oral and written instructions as well as governmental regulations; respond to questions and inquiries from management and government representatives; and accurately review and complete various documents, reports and records required of the position.Preferred Qualifications6 years of diesel mechanic experience.Proficiency in diagnostic software.Work Conditions and Physical DemandsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying of tools, parts, and equipment up to 100 pounds.Regular use of hands and arms for handling tools, reaching overhead, and working in tight spaces.Ability to climb on, under, and around large trucks and equipment safely.Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read gauges, manuals, and perform detailed inspections.Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to detect equipment sounds, communicate, and follow safety signals.Pay Rate: $32.95 - $37.45 per hour, based on experienceBenefitsAt Saia, your success is our success!
