Physical Therapist PT - Outpatient Ortho

About the role MedStar Health is looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to join the Therapy - Waugh Chapel team. Primary duties Provide evaluation services including review of historical information, performance of assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results; explain evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family, incorporating them in goal setting. Demonstrate proficiency in the implementation of treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving healthcare environment. Consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated. Recognize and document changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or need for medical/rehabilitation consultation. Complete appropriate discharge planning and follow‑up care. Accurately and timely document and charge for patient care activities, including initial evaluation/plan of care establishing baseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Demonstrate effective time management and meet productivity expectations; manage an accurate schedule. Provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in a patient‑consumer‑driven environment. Take initiative in pursuing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serve as a clinical instructor to assign students and assist with orientation and mentoring of inexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy. Licensure required in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification.
