Job Title Sr. Specialist, Project Engineering Job Code 39922 Location Anaheim, CA (on‑site) Schedule 9/80 Regular Schedule – 80 hours in 14 days, every other Friday off Job Description This position is for a Project Engineer working on Columbia Development Programs within the Power Systems Engineering organization. The role leads multi‑disciplined engineering teams through proposal, design, development, and delivery of next‑generation products, serving as a key decision maker, mentor, and motivator. Essential Functions Key interface between the Engineering team and Program Management, requiring strong communication skills and leadership presence. Ensures all technical performance, cost, and schedule goals on the program are met. Advises senior management and customers on advanced technical studies and/or applications. Identifies and manages program technical risks. Establishes schedule, resource, budget, and tool requirements for tasks. Ensures engineering processes are followed on projects. Obtains and maintains a SECRET DoD Security Clearance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including 1 year of leadership experience; or graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of experience. At least 4 years of experience in developing, proposing, managing, implementing, testing products and system solutions in power systems or related areas, including: Naval power or power conversion systems. Military production products with complex electro‑mechanical assemblies. Production product lifecycle management. Experience with temperature, humidity, shock, and vibration testing and certification. 1+ year of leadership and direct participation in technical proposal development, cost estimation (BOE Creation), and manpower planning. Previous DoD engineering development experience. Requirements analysis and definition experience. Preparation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). IMS (schedule) development and maintenance experience, preferably with Microsoft Project. 2+ years of EVM/CAM experience. 2+ years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools. 2+ years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools. Experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering projects. Preferred Additional Skills Effective presentation and communication skills. Technical Master’s degree (MSEE, MSCS, MSSE, etc.). Experience with ISO9001 compliant processes and product development methodologies. Agile development methodology (HW/SW). Jira experience. Salary & Benefits The salary range for this role is $106,500 – $197,500.
