General Maintenance TechnicianEmbry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to support the Housing Maintenance team in Daytona Beach, Florida. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of routine and skilled maintenance and repair tasks across campus facilities and infrastructure.The technician will work across multiple trades—including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC—to ensure campus buildings remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position plays a key role in supporting student housing, classrooms, and campus operations through timely response to work orders, preventive maintenance, and support during campus events and emergencies.The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and experienced in general facilities maintenance, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.Key Job FunctionsPerform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems and campus infrastructure across multiple trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC)Respond to and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner, ensuring work meets campus standards and is properly documented in the CMMS systemConduct preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to maintain facility operations and safetyPerform routine tasks such as replacing fixtures, repairing drywall, painting, installing doors and hardware, and maintaining flooring and ceiling systemsMaintain roofs, gutters, and drainage systems, including cleaning and minor repairsInstall appliances, classroom equipment, and fixtures such as whiteboards, monitors, and bulletin boardsSupport residence hall turnover and classroom preparationAssist with campus office moves and special event setup/breakdown (tables, chairs, etc.)Operate university vehicles safely and report maintenance needsRespond to campus emergencies, including severe weather preparation and recovery effortsMaintain clean and organized work and storage areasPerks Await You at Embry-Riddle!Health Benefits: Experience comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with wellness programs that include preventive care and fitness memberships.
