Staff Software Engineer, Android

Push the limits of mobile devices and build great user experiences Build smooth, stable, and fun products Develop features from design through implementation and launch Evaluate technical tradeoffs and work with design on UI and infrastructure practices Perform code reviews to guarantee code quality Use AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services Uphold rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production-ready quality Drive Android ad inventory and platform work for Snapchat's Monetization, Ad Format Team Work with emphasis on networking and client performance Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience 9+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience, or equivalent master's/PhD pathways 1+ years of experience with technical leadership or acting as a domain expert Experience with Android application development Ability to use Kotlin, Java, RxJava, Dagger, and other Android development tools Ability to prioritize duties and work independently Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and auditing generated output for architecture, performance, and security Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools Preferred: experience with large-scale customer-facing mobile applications Preferred: experience leading teams to deliver sophisticated initiatives Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in Android Application Development using Kotlin, Java, and related tools, while ensuring high standards for code quality, security, and performance. Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and leverages AI tools for scalable service design.
