About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87144!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: NM license can pend at time of submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS required; CPI, NIH, OCN preferred Must-Have: COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted. Experience with colostomy care, feeding tube management, renal failure, and blood product administration. Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and manage various respiratory and cardiac conditions. Competency in telemetry and the use of specialized medical equipment. Skills in starting and maintaining IVs, managing surgical drains, and wound care. Description: We are seeking a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care. The nurse will provide patient care for adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of around 22 patients. The patient ratio will be approximately 1:5. Responsibilities include pre/post-operative care, management of chronic illnesses, and administering medications and treatments as necessary. The nurse will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and social services. Telehealth experience is preferred, as well as experience in handling complex cases such as postoperative infections and exacerbations of chronic conditions. This role may involve caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses, including diabetes, chronic heart failure, and respiratory issues. The position may require occasional weekend shifts and flexibility based on patient census and staffing availability.
