Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: MO or compact license required. Certifications: ACLS required. BLS and PALS preferred. Must-Have: - Administration of blood and blood products - General and pediatric OR experience - Infection control knowledge - Ability to scrub and circulate in various surgical procedures - Experience with trauma protocols Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a pediatric operating room setting. The role involves providing surgical care to neonates and pediatric patients. Nurses will float to pediatric medical-surgical units and may assist in the ICU. Call requirements include 4-6 weekdays every 6 weeks and one weekend every 6 weeks. Floating within service lines to meet facility needs will be expected. Specializations include neuro, ortho, plastics, ENT, GU/GI, and general surgery. No cardiac, vascular, or thoracic cases are to be handled by the unit. Daily census is approximately 50 patients with 16 staffed beds in the unit. The position entails working with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care. Each nurse will adhere to universal protocol and infection control standards. Experience in pediatric general OR and trauma is preferred. The registered nurse must be able to handle specimen labeling and handling. This position requires a high level of critical thinking and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
