Assistant Construction Superintendent
$50k - $70kGeneral Contractor & Specialty Trade Contractor
Job Description
Job Description
Assistant Construction Superintendent
About the Company
We are a Las Vegas-based construction company operating as both a general contractor and a subcontract trade partner. Our role varies by project: sometimes we manage the overall construction process, and other times we bring specialized field expertise to a larger project team.
Our portfolio includes special construction projects and painting at Allegiant Stadium; restaurant construction and renovations involving nationally recognized brands such as Crumbl Cookies, Outback Steakhouse, and Texas Roadhouse; public-sector projects involving the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, the City of Las Vegas, and the City of Henderson; and commercial retail, tenant improvement, reconstruction, and residential renovation projects throughout Southern Nevada.
Our work may include general contracting, project coordination, rough and finish carpentry, metal-stud framing, drywall, painting, flooring, specialty installations, remodeling, and reconstruction, depending on the project and our contracted role.
One project may look completely different from the next. We are building a company capable of taking on challenging, high-profile, and diverse construction projects—and we are looking for people who want to help us continue growing.
About the Role
The Assistant Construction Superintendent is a field-leadership position responsible for helping turn project plans, schedules, and scopes of work into organized daily execution.
This person will work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to coordinate manpower, production, materials, documentation, quality, safety, and communication between the field and office. The Assistant Superintendent must understand what work is scheduled, what was completed, what remains outstanding, what materials are needed, and what issues could affect production or the project schedule.
Because we operate as both a general contractor and a subcontract trade partner, the responsibilities of this position will vary by project.
When we are serving as the general contractor, the Assistant Superintendent may help coordinate subcontractors, inspections, schedules, deliveries, clients, and overall jobsite operations. When we are serving as a trade partner, the focus may be on coordinating our self-performing crews, tracking labor and production, managing materials, documenting our work, and communicating with the general contractor’s field team.
This is not a desk-only role, but it is also not simply a labor position. The Assistant Superintendent must be present and engaged in the field, regularly walk the project, verify work, communicate with crews, document progress, and step in when project conditions require it—without losing sight of the larger responsibility to coordinate and help lead the work.
We do not expect this person to know everything on day one. We do expect them to communicate, ask questions, learn quickly, follow through, and use the available tools and resources to find solutions.
Schedule and Availability
This is a full-time, salaried position.
The current project assignment requires five overnight shifts per week, Sunday through Thursday, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The overnight schedule is currently expected to continue through approximately November 2026, with the possibility of extending into early 2027.
When not assigned to an overnight or other special project, the standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m .
Construction schedules may change based on project requirements, deadlines, site conditions, and client needs. Applicants must be willing and able to work the current overnight schedule and transition to regular daytime hours when project assignments change. Occasional schedule adjustments may also be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with daily field operations.
- Help translate project plans, schedules, and priorities into organized daily field activities.
- Support the coordination of field employees, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and trade partners.
- Help plan daily manpower, work areas, assignments, and production goals.
- Complete accurate daily logs documenting manpower, work performed, deliveries, delays, field conditions, safety concerns, and significant project activity.
- Take, organize, label, and upload clear project-progress photographs.
- Maintain consistent communication between the field, Superintendent, Project Manager, and company leadership.
- Track labor, manpower, production, materials, and overall project progress.
- Help coordinate material orders, deliveries, staging, storage, and inventory.
- Review construction plans, details, specifications, scopes of work, schedules, and other project documents.
- Help verify that work is installed according to project documents, manufacturer requirements, and company quality standards.
- Identify missing information, scope conflicts, schedule concerns, and potential problems before they become larger issues.
- Assist with RFIs, field documentation, change-related information, and communication of jobsite conditions.
- Participate in daily site walks, safety observations, quality-control inspections, and progress reviews.
- Assist with layout, measurements, verification of field conditions, and coordination between trades.
- Help develop, maintain, and complete punch lists.
- Support project startup, mobilization, jobsite protection, closeout, and demobilization activities.
- Help maintain safe, clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
- Confirm that assigned work is completed correctly and follow up when something is missing or incomplete.
- Attend project meetings and communicate relevant information clearly and promptly.
- Step in and assist the field team when project conditions require it.
- Support multiple commercial and residential projects when assigned.
- Travel between projects throughout the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding areas as required.
- Perform additional project and field-related responsibilities based on company and project needs.
Technology and Documentation Requirements
Technology is a major part of this position. Applicants must be comfortable using:
- Smartphones, tablets, and computers
- Email, text messaging, calendars, and cloud-based documents
- Digital construction plans and plan-viewing tools
- Daily-reporting and project-management software
- Photo-documentation and file-organization systems
- Microsoft Office or comparable programs
- AI-based tools used to improve communication, documentation, planning, and operational efficiency
Applicants do not need to know every system we use on their first day. However, they must be willing and able to learn new technology, follow digital processes, troubleshoot basic issues, and ask questions when assistance is needed.
Consistently completing required documentation is an essential responsibility of this position. Avoiding technology or repeatedly failing to complete daily reports, photographs, and other required digital documentation will not work in this role.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand construction plans, details, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Ability to support daily field coordination, manpower planning, production tracking, material management, and quality control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete clear, accurate, and timely daily reports.
- Ability to take, label, organize, and upload project photographs.
- Comfort using smartphones, tablets, computers, email, calendars, and cloud-based documents.
- Willingness and ability to learn construction-management software, digital plan tools, and AI-based tools used for communication, documentation, planning, and operational efficiency.
- Strong organization, time-management, and follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt when field conditions or project needs change.
- Ability to communicate immediately when there is a delay, mistake, absence, material issue, or other concern affecting the work.
- Ability to accept direction, ask questions, receive constructive feedback, and continue improving.
- Professional communication with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, employees, and trade partners.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel between jobsites throughout the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding areas.
- Ability to safely navigate active construction sites, including stairs, ladders, uneven surfaces, noise, dust, and changing weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work the current overnight schedule and transition to daytime hours when project assignments change.
- five or more years of construction field experience.
- Commercial construction experience.
- OSHA 30 Construction training/card. Candidates who do not already have OSHA 30 must be willing to complete the approved training within their first 90 days of employment. The company will pay for the required training for the selected candidate.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are valuable but are not all required:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Lead, Field Coordinator, or in another construction leadership role.
- Experience with rough carpentry, wood or metal framing, drywall, finish carpentry, tenant improvements, retail construction, or remodeling.
- Experience coordinating self-performing crews, subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, or multiple trades.
- Experience tracking labor, manpower, materials, production, and daily progress.
- Familiarity with digital plans, construction-management platforms, daily-reporting software, and photo-documentation systems.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Who Will Succeed Here
Construction is fast-moving, and jobsite conditions do not always go according to plan. We are not looking for someone who expects every day to be predictable. We are looking for someone who stays calm, communicates clearly, adapts, helps find solutions, and follows through.
The right person understands that trust is built through consistent performance. They take ownership of their responsibilities, document their work, communicate before a small issue becomes a larger one, and care about the success of the entire team—not only the tasks assigned directly to them.
We value people who work hard, continue learning and growing, use good judgment, and are willing to step up when a project needs them.
Compensation and Advancement
The current starting salary range for this full-time position is $50,000–$70,000 annually .
Starting compensation will be based on the candidate’s construction experience, field knowledge, leadership ability, technology proficiency, communication skills, and overall qualifications.
This position offers room for increased responsibility, compensation growth, and advancement as the employee demonstrates consistent performance, reliability, leadership, and the ability to support successful project outcomes.
Potential career paths may include advancement into a Superintendent, Project Manager, or another construction operations leadership position.
Equal Opportunity
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a team with different experiences, skills, and perspectives. Qualified candidates of all backgrounds, including women and individuals from groups historically underrepresented in the construction industry, are encouraged to apply.
Hiring decisions are based on experience, qualifications, demonstrated ability, and the requirements of the position.
Physical and Jobsite Requirements
This is an active, field-based construction position. The employee must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout an active jobsite.
- Regularly climb stairs and ladders and safely navigate uneven surfaces.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and move through active work areas.
- Lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work around construction noise, dust, changing temperatures, and active equipment.
- Wear required personal protective equipment.
- Safely perform field responsibilities during both daytime and overnight assignments.
- Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
