Occupational Therapist, PRN

Position Details Department: 37503 Lexington Medical Center - Outpatient Rehabilitation Job Type: Part time Hours per Week: 4 Pay Range: $49.00 - $49.00 Schedule: Monday through Friday with occasional weekend assistance ( Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university. M.A. or Doctorate (accreditation AOTA) preferred. Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the applicable state with current licensure. CPR Certification every two years. Valid applicable state driver's license. Responsibilities Perform specialized tests such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teach occupational therapy procedures to patients, families, and other health personnel. Conduct individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members and provide written summaries of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plans. Plan intervention strategies and communicate effectively with families regarding a child’s strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools, or clinics. Provide occupational therapy treatment services including neuro‑developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, and other modalities to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status. Document goals, objectives, and progress of interventions; participate in IFSP as needed. Participate in chart review for quality assurance and attend relevant workshops to update instruments and tools for best practices. Attend scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Skills & Competencies Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact with patients, family members, visitors, coworkers, and medical staff under a wide variety of circumstances. Experience working with infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult patients. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Function effectively under stressful and difficult situations.
