Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical

Job Summary We are seeking a Nurse Manager of Medical/Surgical who reports to the Director, Vice President, and/or the Chief Nursing Officer. The role facilitates, coordinates, and delegates delivery of patient care to a defined group of patients throughout their hospitalization. The Nurse Manager is responsible 24 hours a day for staffing and management of patient care in each unit, promoting professional nursing practice, and utilizing resources to fulfill responsibilities. Responsibilities Build and maintain a high-functioning team, providing leadership and direction for staffing in alignment with organizational goals. Determine staffing modifications based on patient acuity and census. Manage personnel: interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and motivation to achieve peak performance. Ensure unit productivity targets are met. Plan, organize, facilitate, and direct patient care delivered 24 hours a day in accordance with internal and external standards (unit, department, hospital, TJC, Medicare, OSHA). Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. 1+ year(s) applicable experience required; 3+ years preferred. Current license to practice professional registered nursing in the state of Texas.
