Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Neuro RN for a 22-bed intermediate care unit, requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• 22-bed intermediate care unit with mixed medical diagnoses
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1 with 24/7 unit leadership
• Night shift schedule, 6:30p-7a, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week at 0.9 FTE

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Solid understanding of medical terminology, disease processes, and healthcare regulations

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and nursing rounds
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
• Coordinate individualized treatment plans and care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Promote a positive, healing environment through effective communication and teamwork
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
