If you’re an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney looking for a role where you can manage cases, develop strategy, handle discovery and depositions, and represent clients through court proceedings, arbitrations and mediations, this is worth a look.

I’m working with an established, mid-sized New Jersey firm looking to add a Senior Litigation Associate to its Insurance Coverage team.

The Role

This is a hands-on position combining insurance coverage, insurance defense and complex litigation/arbitration work.

You’ll be trusted to take responsibility for your matters rather than simply handling one piece of the litigation process.

Your work will include:

• Handling insurance coverage and defense matters
• Managing litigation and arbitration proceedings
• Conducting complex legal research and coverage analysis
• Drafting memoranda, motions and other litigation documents
• Managing discovery and taking/defending depositions
• Preparing matters for trial
• Developing legal strategies and advising clients
• Participating in court proceedings, arbitrations and mediations

In short, they’re looking for someone who is comfortable running with matters, making decisions and managing competing deadlines, while still enjoying the support of an experienced team.

What Are They Looking For?

You’ll ideally have:

• 5+ years of litigation, arbitration and/or insurance/reinsurance experience
• Admission to the New York or New Jersey State Bar
• A JD with strong academic credentials
• Experience with discovery, depositions, trial preparation and court proceedings
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational abilities
• The ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team
