Reports To Area Head Functions and Responsibilities Learning Associates/Tutors – English, Math, Computer Science and Biology/Chemistry/Physics Part time/Seasonal/As needed for support of the Branch Campus and departments in the area Please Note: Essex County College does not provide visa sponsorship of any kind. Job Summary Compensation: This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $20 per hour. Supervisory Role Duties & Responsibilities Familiar with Microsoft package Demonstrates knowledge of subject area to be covered Communicate with faculty and students about tutoring needs, subject matter information Inform the Dean of CCEWD & WEC of any issues Be of service to faculty as they provide instruction Interact with Online support staff – for Moodle, WebAssign and other assignments that may require online Assist students with a positive attitude so they feel welcomed and part of the Essex CC community Other duties as assigned by the Dean or designee Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and functions of the job and are not meant to be all inclusive. Additional Requirements *Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science and/or Humanities, Math, Biology or any of the subjects that tutoring is needed Bi-lingual a plus Experience of working at a college Hrs – Not to exceed 24 weeks per week – minimum of 6 hrs Based on needs of department or area.
