Safety Manager

The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA's Safety Management (SM)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain and schedule all ERT training for employees site-wide
• Develop and execute workplace safety plans aligned with federal, state, and local guidelines (such as OSHA and EPA regulations).
• Recommend actionable, preventative solutions to eliminate risks before injuries happen.
• Lead "toolbox talks" and safety committee meetings to encourage a proactive, safety-first culture.
• Mentor managers and supervisors on how to safely execute daily operations without compromising employee health
• Perform routine workplace audits, equipment inspections, and job site observations to proactively spot hazards.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED: Associate or Technical: Bachelors Degree: BS, Engineering discipline preferred

Masters Preferred: Doctorate: Other Certificates or Licenses:

Prior Work Experience:

None: Less than 6 mths.: 6 mths. to 1 yr.:

3-5 years: 5-8 years:

8-10 years: 10-15 years: 15 years or more:

Required Skills or Abilities:

• Must have thorough knowledge of 29 CFR 1910.119 (Process Safety Management)
• Must have thorough knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and equipment
• Must have knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, and engineering practices (API, ASME, NFPA, etc)
• OSHA-PSM Level 1 Certification and/or PHA Facilitator training preferred
• Must have excellent computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Risk Stature Assessment or PHA Pro (Dyadem)
• Must have excellent organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
