Senior Pastor (Full time or Bi-Vocational)

Hart Missionary Baptist Church, established in 1932, of London, KY, a Southern Baptist Church, is prayerfully seeking a Full-time Senior Pastor or Bi-Vocational Senior Pastor selected by God to Shepherd our church as Pastor. A man who is a faithful, humble, unapologetic leader that is committed to God’s Word and the Great Commission; a man gifted in preaching and teaching, full of love and grace for others, organized and able to successfully administrate and delegate; compassionate toward others, and demonstrates a high level of competence. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

· Plan and conduct the worship services; prepare and deliver sermons; lead in observance of ordinances. Conduct biblical counseling sessions; perform biblical wedding ceremonies; conduct funerals.

· Lead and serve the church in an effective program of witnessing and in a caring ministry for persons in church and community, including personal soul winning.

· Visit members and prospects.

· Work with deacons, church officers, and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities and ministries

· Act as moderator of church business meetings.

· Cooperate with association, state, and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern; keep the church informed of denominational development; represent the church in civic matters

· The senior pastor will preach and teach the Bible, believing that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter. The Pastor will communicate the vision for ministry that God gives to this congregation.

· The Pastor is expected to be a servant leader. The Pastor is expected to live an exemplary life modeling the call, character, engaging in personal bible study and prayer and competencies becoming a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Pastor will demonstrate a servant spirit as a growing disciple of Christ. 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· A degree in Biblical studies, preferably a Master of Divinity and evidence of commitment to continued professional development, education, and growth in ministry.

· Licensed and Ordained

· A proven record of pastoral experience

· Experienced in church leadership

· Administrative skills, including the ability to supervise, monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback to staff

· The ability to listen effectively and to communicate clearly, both orally and in written form

· Candidate must affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
