Metallurgist - Technical Sales Engineer

The Opportunity We’re expanding our Hot Work Tooling division and looking for a National Technical Sales Engineer who understands the materials, the applications, and the customers behind them. What You’ll Do Build and manage relationships with OEMs, tool shops, and Tier 1 suppliers Deliver consultative, value‑based solutions — not commodity sales Represent Diehl at trade shows (FABTECH, NADCA, PMA) and industry events Partner with global engineering teams to support customer education What You’ll Bring Deep technical knowledge of Hot Work Tool Steels (H13) Hands‑on understanding of tooling, heat treatment, and failure modes Curiosity and comfort engaging with customers, from engineers to executives A consultative mindset and willingness to learn the sales side Strong communication and relationship skills Bonus points if you’ve worked with Tier 1 suppliers, NADCA, or PMA — or if you’ve ever helped solve a tooling problem that made a customer’s day.
