The role involves providing care in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. The daily average census ranges from a minimum of 10 to up to 40 patients. The nurse will care for a wide variety of patients, including those with complex admission diagnoses. Floating between areas such as emergency and medical-surgical units is required. Every other weekend and holiday work is mandatory as scheduled. Nursing responsibilities include managing a patient ratio of 1:6. The role involves knowledge and skills in telemetry, administering medications, and care techniques. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and CPI. Experience with charting systems is preferred. Candidates must be comfortable working with diverse patient populations, including adults and geriatrics. This position may require dealing with emergency admissions and a variety of medical conditions. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills with patients and team members. Flexibility to adapt to change in a dynamic healthcare environment is essential. This position requires engaging with interdisciplinary support teams for optimal patient care. Working knowledge of telehealth practices and protocols would be beneficial.
