Unit Secretary, Medical Stroke (Evenings, Part-Time)

Job Overview Unit Secretary, Medical Stroke (Evenings, Part-Time) – Responsible for a variety of receptionist and clerical duties, including updating and organizing information and supplies on nursing units, coordinating work within the unit and with other departments, reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor, and responding to inquiries from staff, patients, and visitors. Front‑line customer service interactions through telephone and personal contact, facilitating unit efficiency, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and contacting physician offices as requested. This role does not involve patient assessment, treatment, or direct care. Responsibilities Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support patient care delivery. Update and organize information and supplies on nursing units. Coordinate work within the unit and with other units and departments. Report pertinent information to the supervisor. Respond to inquiries and requests from staff, patients, and visitors. Handle front‑line customer service interactions via telephone and personal contact. Answer calls, schedule appointments, and call physician offices as requested. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Computer experience required. Secretarial experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. No certification or licensure required.
