Rheumatology Physician

Join a respected academic healthcare system delivering high-quality outpatient rheumatology care in Cambridge, Massachusetts . This is a rewarding opportunity for a board-certified Rheumatologist to provide meaningful specialty care in a collaborative clinical environment.

Assignment Details:

• Start: March 2026 (as soon as credentialing is complete)
• Duration: 24 weeks with potential extension
• Schedule: Monday Friday, clinic sessions between 7:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Variable clinic sessions based on departmental needs
• Rotating call required (approx. 1/3 weekends + evening coverage)

Practice Setting:

• Outpatient rheumatology clinic
• Average patient volume: 18 patients per day
• Annual clinic volume: 2,000 visits
• Supported by a strong onsite specialty ecosystem including multiple orthopedic providers
• Two rheumatologists on site (no APP coverage in department)

Your Role:

• Provide comprehensive outpatient rheumatology evaluations and follow-up care
• Manage chronic autoimmune and inflammatory conditions
• Participate in rotating call schedule including weekends and evenings
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialty teams to optimize patient outcomes

Technology:

• EPIC EMR system

Requirements:

• Active Massachusetts medical license (required)
• Board Certification in Rheumatology (MD only)
• Recent direct supervisor reference required
• Compliance with flu vaccination requirement (no waivers accepted)
• Strong outpatient clinical rheumatology experience
• No telehealth experience required or applicable

Team Environment:

• Collaborative specialty environment with multiple orthopedic providers
• Two rheumatologists on site for shared clinical support
• Independent clinical practice with high outpatient responsibility
