You will actively engage with pet owners to educate them on the advantages of pet training and deliver training services according to our established curriculum. Essential Responsibilities Provide excellent experiences and resolutions for pet parents both in-person and through various communication channels. Promote and sell training classes in-store, over the phone, and online. Educate pet parents on the full range of our pet training curriculum. Maintain all documentation related to pet training activities. Share expertise with fellow associates on the benefits of pet training. Schedule training classes according to company standards. Create a safe and welcoming environment for class participants and their pets. Ensure the training area and surroundings are clean and presentable. Recognize and appreciate associates who contribute to training sales. Take swift action regarding the care of any sick or injured pets that may be identified. Make recommendations and sell relevant merchandise and services. Assist in other store departments as required. Participate in our culture of belonging and recognition. Follow all company policies and procedures. Qualifications 1-2 years of retail experience in a customer-centric role. Completion of the PetSmart Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer applications. Ability to handle pressure while maintaining composure. Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment Associate must stand, walk, climb, and use hands to perform various tasks. Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, and talking is required. Vision capabilities must include depth perception. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. This role may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet environments, pet hair, and moderate noise levels, with potential for high noise levels at times.
