Our Hematology & Oncology Unit cares for patients receiving treatment for cancer and blood disorders, including chemotherapy, blood product administration, symptom management, and complex medical care.

As a Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR), you serve as the central hub of communication for the unitsupporting nurses, providers, patients, and families to ensure seamless and efficient daily operations while helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for those in our care.

Serving as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, visitors, and interdepartmental communication Supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges within the electronic medical record Assisting nurses and providers with coordination of care and message routing Maintaining accurate documentation, patient charts, and unit logs Scheduling tests, procedures, and patient transport as requested Ensuring workstations, supply areas, and communication tools remain organized and up to date Supporting patient flow in a fast-paced, specialized care environment

Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Experience: One year of experience in healthcare, preferred. Licensure/certification/registration: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Additional skills preferred: Experience with answering multiple phone lines. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service behaviors.
