Line Cook

At Hometown Coffee & Juice, our Line Cooks are responsible for bringing our food to life with consistency, speed, and care. As a Line Cook, you'll prepare menu items according to Hometown recipes and standards while keeping your station organized and ready for service.

You'll work closely with the kitchen team to manage ticket flow, maintain food quality, and support a smooth and efficient operation. This role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and the ability to stay focused during busy periods.

Own Your Station

• Prepare food according to Hometown recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
• Maintain awareness of ticket flow and prepare orders within expected service times.
• Keep your station clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service.
• Rotate stations and support other kitchen areas as business needs require.

Deliver Quality & Consistency

• Follow recipes, portion standards, and preparation procedures carefully.
• Ensure food is cooked, assembled, and presented according to Hometown standards.
• Communicate product quality concerns or operational issues to kitchen leadership.
• Maintain consistency from one order to the next.

Follow Food Safety Standards

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, storage, labeling, and rotation procedures.
• Practice proper FIFO procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Follow proper procedures for equipment use and safe food handling.

Support the Team

• Work closely with teammates and kitchen leadership to keep service moving.
• Communicate clearly and professionally during prep and service.
• Step in to support teammates during busy periods.
• Help create a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen environment.

Practice Ownership

• Follow portion control standards to help minimize waste and manage food costs.
• Use ingredients and supplies responsibly.
• Communicate low inventory, product concerns, or prep needs to leadership.

What You Bring

• One to two years of experience in a busy kitchen is preferred, but we are happy to train the right person.
• Strong knife skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• ServSafe certification is preferred or can be obtained upon hiring.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout the kitchen for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-heat environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Pay: Starting at $18/hour, with opportunities for increases based on experience and performance.
