Role OverviewThe PE Development Assistant Manager will have a primary responsibility in supporting the battery development department in developing and implementing new parts for the assigned Battery system assembly projects. The role involves collaborating with suppliers to ensure that the parts they develop meet the required quality standards, are delivered on time, and meet the cost targets set by the company. The BSA Development Assistant Manager will have to have a deep understanding of the assigned Battery system, including its components and how they interact, and expertise in the manufacturing processes used by suppliers to identify areas for improvement to reduce costs and improve quality. This role is critical to the success of the BSA development department and the overall success of the Battery system assembly project by ensuring that the parts delivered meet the required quality standards, are delivered on time, and help the company achieve its cost targets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.) Assists with part development and implementations for an assigned project with suppliers and other departments.Conducts detailed project plans, tactical execution, schedules in each part project.Provides Management overview and reporting on critical project tasks.Maintains strong relationships with suppliers, internal and external customers.Communicates regularly with upper management including HQ regarding the status of current projects, obtains upper management guidance and approval as required.Assists suppliers to meet the quality requirement during project and program.Respond to supply shortages for supplier-related issues.Conducts Value engineering for any possible cost savings.Handles supplier's ISIR review and approval, supplier quality audit.Other tasks as assigned  AUTHORITY & SCOPE This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required  Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.) Required Education & Experience:High school diploma or GED5+ years of relevant industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or related technical fields1+ years of experience in Supplier Development, Supplier Quality Management or automotive/battery industry Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointGood written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and technical skills  Preferred Education & Experience:Bachelor 's degree in Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronical EngineeringExperience in Welding (GMAW/MIG/FSW/Laser) and Press ProcessExperience in automotive manufacturing environmentExperience in battery manufacturing environmentAbility to understand 2D/3D drawings and knowledge of design toolsERP experience  Working Conditions:Office setting, some walking within and between buildingsOvertime as neededFrequent travel with possible overnight or extended stays
