Laser Operator (Fiber Laser)

We are looking for a skilled Laser Operator to take the reins of our high-powered 6kW Gorilla Bescutter Fiber Laser. If you are a CNC or laser professional who knows how to optimize a nested program and keep a production line moving safely and efficiently, this is your chance to work with top-tier fabrication tech.

salary: $20 - $22 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Safely set up, calibrate, and operate the 6kW Gorilla Bescutter fiber laser system.

• Program Management: Load, navigate, and manipulate CNC part programs and nested layouts; adjust machine cutting parameters (speed, gas pressure, focal point) to optimize cut quality based on material thickness and type.

• Material Handling: Safely load raw sheet material onto the shuttle table and unload finished parts/skeleton sheets using appropriate lifting equipment or manual techniques.

• Quality Control: Perform first-article and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, or gauges to ensure parts meet tight blueprint tolerances and design specifications.

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform daily preventative maintenance (cleaning optics, checking nozzle condition, monitoring gas levels) and troubleshoot minor machine errors or cut quality issues (dross, edge roughness).

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 25lbs
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
